Background

The issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are increasingly becoming a concern worldwide, especially in the health and education sectors. Nursing is one of the most important professions in the health sector. It is crucial in ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in nursing care and education. The EDI issue is critical because nurses will deal directly with patients from various backgrounds and different health needs. Thus, there is a need for an educational approach that focuses on diversity and inclusion to ensure that nurses are adequately trained in caring for and meeting the needs of patients from various backgrounds.

In nursing practice, the issue of EDI is also essential to ensure that all patients receive the same treatment by considering their individual needs. Treatment practices that do not consider EDI issues can lead to inequalities in care and poor outcomes for patients from minority groups or those with special needs. Even though the EDI issue recognizes as necessary, there are still various challenges in ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in nursing care and education. One of the challenges faced is the lack of representation and diversity within the nursing profession, especially in countries with significant minority populations.

Disparities in access and quality of health services for minority groups and those with special needs a. Differences in health systems can cause these limitations, policies, discrimination, and stereotypes still occur in society and the nursing profession. Efforts to increase awareness and understanding of EDI issues in nursing and culture are one way to hold an international seminar entitled “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Nursing Practice and Education.” This seminar will discuss EDI problems faced by the nursing profession and provide appropriate solutions and strategies to improve this situation

Experts and experienced speakers in this field will bring various topics related to EDI issues in nursing practice and education. In addition, this seminar will also be a platform for sharing knowledge, experience, and best practices in the field of EDI from various countries. The conference expects to provide a better understanding of the importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the nursing profession and provide appropriate solutions and strategies to overcome the challenges faced in achieving these goals. Thus, this seminar can have a positive impact on the nursing profession and also on society as a whole.

Another benefit of this seminar is that it becomes a means to expand networks and cooperation between participants from various countries. In the increasingly advanced era of globalization, international collaboration is becoming essential to address complex and interrelated problems. In the context of the EDI issue, international cooperation can provide support and a better understanding of the needs of patients from various backgrounds and how nurses can provide the best care for them.

Overall, the issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion are fundamental issues in the nursing profession and the health sector as a whole. Continued efforts are needed to ensure that all patients receive the same care considering their individual needs and that the nursing profession represents the diversity of society. The international seminar with the theme “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Nursing Practice and Education” is one of the efforts to improve this situation and positively impact the nursing profession and society in general.
