About INSC
The issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are increasingly becoming a concern worldwide, especially in the health and education sectors. Nursing is one of the most important professions in the health sector. It is crucial in ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in nursing care and education. The EDI issue is critical because nurses will deal directly with patients from various backgrounds and different health needs. Thus, there is a need for an educational approach that focuses on diversity and inclusion to ensure that nurses are adequately trained in caring for and meeting the needs of patients from various backgrounds.
In nursing practice, the issue of EDI is also essential to ensure that all patients receive the same treatment by considering their individual needs. Treatment practices that do not consider EDI issues can lead to inequalities in care and poor outcomes for patients from minority groups or those with special needs. Even though the EDI issue recognizes as necessary, there are still various challenges in ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in nursing care and education. One of the challenges faced is the lack of representation and diversity within the nursing profession, especially in countries with significant minority populations.
